Felt is a fabric made of wool fibers matted together by steam and pressure without spinning, weaving or knitting. Wool fibers mat together under appropriate conditions due to their peculiar structure and high degree of crimp. The process of felting was widely used in Nepal from centuries in remote Himalayan villages. Felt is made by hand with sheep wool. This unique method is traditionally used to make rugs to insulate their homes from extreme cold. Now, it is widely used as fashion accessories such as bags, caps, purse, hair bans and many more.
